ASTRO
Boeing's Autonomous Space Transport Robotic Operations (ASTRO)
satellite servicing spacecraft will serve as the servicer in the demonstration.
The servicer will provide bus services to client satellites enabling the design
of new-generation satellites capable of being refueled and upgraded on-orbit to
extend their life and operational benefits.
During the three month demonstration mission, ASTRO will transfer a 53 lb working
battery and a spacecraft computer assembly to NEXTSat using an autonomously operated
robotic system, provided by MDA. These operations will be
repeated several times throughout the demo mission.
