MDA designs and produces a very wide range of reliable, low noise and high efficiency
DC/DC converters, also known as Electronic Power Conditioners (EPCs).
The company’s range of EPC products includes more than 30 standard designs
suitable for the vast majority of spacecraft buses in use today. MDA EPCs are ideal
for low-power RF circuits such as receivers converters and LNAs as well as high
power RF circuits such as SSPA. MDA also offers several other power products
such as motor drive amplifiers and simple, single rail, high efficiency voltage
converters.
MDA maintains an inventory of standards parts to enable fast delivery of flight
power conversion products to customers around the world. Its family of EPC products
includes the following series: PD,
PDHN, P2R & PRHN,
PR, VRM and custom
design.
MDA heritage in EPC includes over 1,000 units on LEO, GEO and deep space missions
on both manned and unmanned platforms with reportedly 100% success in -orbit. Some
of those missions include:
Anik D, Satcom, BrazilSat, IntelSat 6, ERS, RADARSAT-1 & 2, SarSat, Envisat,
International Space Station, AMC, Telecom2, Olympus, Anik E, MSAT, Anik F, MTSAT,
Yamal 100, AceS, STARc, Astrolink, Gensat, Galaxy, DFH-3, Messenger, Super Bird
6, Inmarsat 4, Skynet V.
