Nimiq 4 Communication Enabled by MDA Antennas
Montréal, QC. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions
is pleased to have contributed to the Nimiq 4 spacecraft. MDA's Montreal operation
supplied all the antennas onboard the satellite. These antennas provide 32 channels
in Ku-band and 8channels in Ka-band. All communication between the satellite and
the earth is carried out using these antennas. The equipment was designed, manufactured
and tested using MDA's expertise and state-of-the-art facilities.
Nimiq 4 is a Canadian geostationary telecommunication satellite that will be used
for direct-to-home satellite televisions, specialty channels and foreign language
programming.
