MDA Funded For Development Of Commercial Space Technologies
BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Honourable Brian Tobin, Minister of Industry announced today
that MD Robotics, a subsidiary of MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates (TSE:MDA),
has received funding under the Canadian Space Agency's Space Technology Development
Program.
The scope of the contracts provide for the research and development into technologies
that will pave the way for unmanned satellite servicing missions, new small robotic
systems for the next generation reusable space and launch vehicles.
Dr. Loris Gregoris, director of research and development at the Brampton-based facility
commented, "We produced a technology road map addressing the market needs over
the next two decades. With the support of government, MD Robotics is putting into
practice this "2020 vision" which will ensure Canada maintains its technological
leadership."

is part of a plan to enter unmanned commercial space opportunities."
