MDA provides continued support for International Space Station
Richmond, B. C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX:MDA),a provider of essential information solutions,
announced today that it has received an initial authorization valued at CA$4.66
million on a contract amendment from the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) exercising
an option to extend the contract from May 2012 to March 2013. This amendment brings
the total contract value to CA$137.9 million.
MDA is providing logistics and sustaining engineering for the Mobile Servicing System
(MSS). The MSS, which includes Canadarm2, Dextre (the robotic handyman onboard the
Station) and a Mobile Base System, was developed by MDA under contract to the CSA
as Canada’s contribution to the International Space Station.
