Skynet 5 Mission Equipped with MDA Antennas Launched March 11th

MDA built and supplied the UHF helical antennas for EADS Astrium's Skynet 5 satellites, the first of which was successfully launched on March 11, 2007. This was the first pair of Skynet antennas delivered to EADS Astrium. Four pairs have now been delivered.

The Skynet 5 satellites are owned and operated by Paradigm Secure Communications, a subsidiary of Astrium Services, to provide secure communications for the UK Ministry of Defence.
