MDA awarded contract for continued support of Canada's contribution to the International
Space Station
Richmond, B.C. - MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA), a provider of essential information solutions,
announced today that it has received a $103 (CAD) million contract from the Canadian
Space Agency (CSA) to continue providing support and enhancements of the Mobile
Servicing System (MSS) through 2012.
The MSS is a sophisticated information solution critical to the continued maintenance
and servicing of the International Space Station. The MSS includes Canadarm2, the
Mobile Base System, and most recently 'Dextre' - a highly evolved two-armed robot
also known as the Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator.
Mag Iskander, executive vice president and general manager of MDA's Information
Systems Business stated, "The renewal of this contract for another four years demonstrates
the excellent level of service and cooperation between MDA, its subcontractors and
the Customer"
