MD Robotics Equipment Ensures Reliable Operation of Systems On-Orbit
BRAMPTON, Ontario - MD Robotics, a subsidiary of MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates
(TSE:MDA), has been awarded a $2.2 million Cdn. ($1.4 million U.S.) contract by
TRW to supply spare electronics for the Mobile Transporter, scheduled to launch
on STS-110 early in 2002.
Developed by MD Robotics for the Mobile Servicing System, these electronic boxes,
known as Space Station Buffer Amplifiers, enhance and strengthen computer signals
on Space Station hardware ensuring no signal degradation when commands are issued.
"This new contract with TRW is an example of MD Robotics' ability to maintain and
resupply systems cost effectively to function in the harsh environment of space."
